MemTest86 is the industry-standard software tool used to isolate, diagnose, and confirm failing or unstable Random Access Memory (RAM). Running MemTest86 requires a spare USB flash drive (at least 1 GB) and a complete wipe of that drive. Step 1: Create the Bootable USB Drive

Go to the official MemTest86 Download Page and download the free image zip file. Extract the file contents and insert your USB flash drive.

Run the imageUSB.exe tool included in the downloaded folder.

Select your USB drive from the top list, choose Write image to USB drive, select the memtest86-usb.img file, and click Write. Step 2: Prepare Your Motherboard BIOS (Crucial Step) Shut down your PC completely.

If your system is overclocked (including XMP, EXPO, or DOCP memory profiles), it is highly recommended to enter your BIOS first and reset settings to factory defaults.
